Sanvic buffered salt

What kind of salt is recommended to wash the nose?

Medical professionals utilize normal saline as a standard solution for various human applications, the same as for nasal irrigation.  Most medical professionals recommend to use normal saline or buffered salt to wash the nose. We recommend the usage of buffered salt for nasal irrigation, and make our Sanvic buffered salt for your convenience.

Why Sanvic buffered salt?

buffered salt is a slightly alkaline solution (normal saline is a slightly acidic solution)-- nasal ciliary beating is better in alkaline solution ( PH 7~9 )

baking soda helps decrease mucous viscosity

no iodine or preservatives -- iodine or preservatives will impair the nasal mucociliary movement

     more comfortable in usage

made in GMP plant with high quality control

pre-measured packet for more convenient usage and avoid salt crystallization by environmental moisture

one bag contains 60 packets of Sanvic buffered salt for nasal irrigation

more economic and cheaper as compared to other brands pre-measured salt for nasal wash

most other brands pre-measured salt for nasal wash are made for 200cc~250cc water only

Sanvic buffered salt is made for 500cc water, about 2X~2.5X in content than other brands in the market

Recipe of Sanvic buffered salt:

     non-iodine salt + baking soda

     no preservatives

Application:

recommend to dissolve one packet of Sanvic buffered salt in 500cc warm water to make isotonic salt water for nasal irrigation.

use 2 or 3 packets of Sanvic buffered salt in 500cc warm water to make hypertonic salt water for nasal irrigation.

** Medical studies proved that hypertonic salt water is better than isotonic salt water for nasal irrigation.

** You might feel mild tingling sensation when using hypertonic salt water in nasal irrigation, only use the concentration you feel comfortable.

** Hypertonic salt helps nasal obstruction better, because hypertonic salt water can shrink the swollen nasal mucosa better to breathe easier.
